Carol Derry . . . ""Riding should be fun and safe or it isn't worth doing!" So says Carol Derry, one of T.E.S.'s senior instructors. Carol began as a working student and has worked as an instructor for T.E.S. since 1993.
Carol is a native of Burbank, and comes from a long line of western riders and wranglers. She began her riding career at age seven at the original riding school located in Griffith Park, riding Hunt Seat in Tumbridge Wells, England and Devereaux School, Santa Barbara, Calif. while in College.

After an equine hiatus while practicing law, Carol began her tenure at T.E.S. in 1990, studying under several trainers located at the LAEC and Somis, Calif., in both Hunt Seat and Dressage. She continues to clinic, most recently with Robert Dover and Mary Wanless.

Carol's hobby is breeding and racing thoroughbreds (but don't bet on them!) and is the proud owner of three former T.E.S. school horses who have been shown Training through Fourth Level Dressage.

She periodically offers clinics and lectures in Dressage, conformation and equine first aid. Carol created and teaches the Adult Training Program, which offers one month units in Dressage, Hunt Seat, Western and Bareback. She teaches beginning through novice level adults and children, and offers group lessons on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, and private lessons by appointment.
